I, Nitu Bhadra,  hail from Bagula Purbapara village of Nadia district. In the year 2006, while my family was passing through a dire economic crisis I got an opportunity to work in Sreemaa Mahila Samity(SMS). I was the group leader of a self help group patronised by SMS and came to know about the job opportunity there. Based on my qualifications, I was recruited as a field level employee and after two years of passionate work as a Field Officer I was elevated to the post of Assistant Branch Manager. In 2015, I became a Branch Head and in the year 2017 I moved to Janakalyan Financial Services Private Limited ( JFSPL). My next promotion was to the position of Cluster Head in 2018 and since January 2020 I am working as Manager-HR at the Head Office. I continued with my studies alongside my professional activities and acquired BA and MA degrees while working at SMS and JFSPL. I could get tremendous support from Sreema and Janakalyan including availing leave during examinations, but for which I would not have been able to pursue with my academic activities. I am indebted to these two organisations for being able to live a life with dignity and financial self-reliance.
